JOB DESCRIPTION: Director
Alberta Pro-Life is looking for a Director to fulfill the following roles and responsibilities in a full-time position (flexible hours) at its provincial office in Edmonton:
REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will: manage an office with a staff of one Administrative Assistant and one[to two part-time summer employees; design and develop strategic and operational goals in conjunction with Board of Directors; coordinate and oversee a Fund Raising Program that aligns with the organization’s marketing and educational goals (this may be done in partnership with another staff person or volunteer); and undertake electronic and written communications with APL members and other pro-life groups across the province.
CHARACTERISTICS: The ideal candidate will: be familiar with pro-life issues within Canada and Alberta and possess two years (minimum) hands-on experience advancing a “gospel of life within a culture of death,” and represent Alberta Pro-Life’s position(s) to the media in a professional and timely manner. The Director is expected to interact with the public (e.g. potential donors, politicians and larger audiences).
SKILLS: The ideal candidate will: possess excellent written and verbal communication skills (candidate will be asked to provide a writing sample at time of interview); demonstrate strong organizational skills; have a basic working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Access & Outlook; maintain financial records with proficiency, solve problems as needed; coordinate marketing campaigns that are generated internally and externally; and evaluate existing programs.
